Forgotten Gods episode 3: Priapus

Priapus, the Greco-Roman God of Fertility and Penis who loved Ass sacrifices

Often represented as a bearded guy with a sickle in his hand and a permanent, massive erection, Priapus was a countryside God of Greco-Roman Religion.

A valuable aid against evil eye and thieves, he was the protector of fruit trees, gardens, livestock and penises.

When he was a baby, the other Gods kicked him out of the Olympus sending him down to the Earth to live with shepherds.

As an adult, he tried to have sex with many different Goddesses and Nymphs, failing every time.

Priapus the Penis God’s favourite animal for sacrifice was the Ass, but he also liked flowers, fruits, vegetables and fish.

The Cult of Priapus survived for centuries after the fall of Roman Empire, but nowadays few invoke his name.

Come on then! Bring your Ass! Bring your veggies and Fruits! We will worship Priapus Tonight!
